Goodpasture Band Program

6th Grade Beginning Band

The 6th grade beginning band is where students can begin their instrumental music education. Students will pick (with guidance) the instrument they want to play and start down the path of discovery. Students will be expected practice 20 minutes a day. 

7th and 8th Grade Band

The 7th and 8th Grade Band is for students after they have completed a year of 6th grade beginning band. This is a continuation of their instrumental music education where they will expand their knowledge on certain topics as well as learn new skills.

High School Wind Ensemble

The High School Wind Ensemble class consist of students grades 9 through 12. This class is where students get to take their musicianship to the next level and start diving into higher level thinking and music.

Percussion Class

The Percussion Class is for a special designated class to provide percussionist with more attention. Since percussionist must be able to play multiple instruments they need more specialized attention than in a typical band class.

Music Appreciation

Music Appreciation is a general course designed to educate students on the history and performance of music. This course allows non band students to take a step into the world of music.

Marching Cougars

The Goodpasture Marching Cougars have a long tradition of excellence. As 15 times State Champions, the marching band prides itself on hard work, dedication and precision. Students 7-12 may join the marching band, but is an extracurricular activity. For more info contact Mr. Belcher.
